Snow-Leopard Conservation

Mountain Spirit, a local conservation organization, plays a vital role in snow leopard conservation by working closely with mountain communities to promote coexistence and protect the species’ natural habitat. Through community outreach, education, and sustainable livelihood initiatives, Mountain Spirit helps reduce human-wildlife conflict, especially in areas where snow leopards prey on livestock. The organization also supports wildlife monitoring efforts, such as camera trapping and data collection, to better understand snow leopard populations and movements. By integrating traditional knowledge with modern conservation practices, Mountain Spirit fosters local stewardship and long-term commitment to protecting this elusive and endangered big cat.
